Projects from my Portable Media course with John Warren.
PROJECT 1: FLUXUS
PROJECT 2: ENDURANCE
PROJECT 3: LOOP
i am not a musician. however, i have found that vine does a crazy weird job of crossfading audio from one clip to the next, and i was able to create somewhat of a nice sound by playing a note before and after starting the clip. i created a color for each note, so the more you watch this, the more each color will align with the note.
this is a similar approach to the previous vine, but now with chords instead of single notes. i rearranged the colors for each chord and enhanced the chord progression.
sam presents the colors
using a stop-motion approach, i wanted to make a .gif that showed an otherwise impossible act. although simple, i move through the space with a changing color of paper, continuing my theme of color in this assignment.
jaxie the dancer
this was an outtake from an old project i completed with john in video art ii. i took the outtake of jaxie and added several effects, including particles, a spotlight, and color transitions. then, i created a .gif so that jaxie can dance forever in cyberspace.
the colorful apple
for this .gif, i taped my iphone above a piece of paper and completed a drawing based on the doodles that i make during most of my classes. i started with no end goal in mind, but an apple came out of it. i used blue, green, then red sharpies in succession. i made a stop-motion file from the animation, and reversed it to infinitely start and end with the same image.
